Our Story
The Bridging the Gap website was built because so many of us know what it’s like to leave treatment and still feel lost. Alcohol once seemed like the solution to an unbearable sense of not belonging — until it stopped working and everything fell apart. Through desperation and grace, we found Alcoholics Anonymous — not as a theory or a slogan, but as a program of action that brought us freedom from a hopeless condition of mind and body.
This site exists to make sure no one has to face that first step alone. It connects those leaving treatment with recovered alcoholics who can walk beside them, introduce them to meetings, and show by example that there truly is a solution. It’s not about forms or data — it’s about carrying the message, one person to another, just as it was freely given to us.
